Our ecofriendly product company, Recycling Zychal, makes stylish and functional softgoods and apparel from upcycled broken umbrellas. Some of our products include ecofriendly dog rain coats, an updated version of the traditional Polish babushka called The HOOD and even Organic Cat Nip Filled Kitty Toys that help raise money for City Kitties Rescue here in Philadelphia, where the green company has its headquarters. We collect broken umbrellas from the streets after a storm and we also receive many broken umbrella donations from people across the country who don’t want to see it go to the landfill. After collection, we delicately and strategically strip each and every broken umbrella (alongside of our 3 models Jake, Betty and Hurley, our pug family) from its metal frame so we can take them to be cleaned. Once clean, we transform these landfill bound broken umbrellas into stylish, functional ecofriendly products that are handcrafted with strict attention to detail and are made with impeccable quality to ensure that the product’s second life is long and lovely!
